Ben Rhydding Ladies 7 Harrogate Ladies 0
Ben Rhydding turned up the heat as they scorched to an emphatic North Premier League win in the sunshine on Saturday.
Once they got into their stride they stretched their opponents with a series of fast and flowing attacking moves.
In the opening minutes they had been a little below par and Harrogate twice came close to taking a surprise lead.
Thankfully for Ben Rhydding their goalkeeper Holly Crank produced two excellent saves and after that was relatively untroubled.
Jess Purvis was at the heart of much of Ben Rhydding’s good play and she was deservedly chosen as player of the match.
Rachel Doherty profited most from her side’s swift-attacking play as she helped herself to a hat-trick.
Kate Hesketh was again in the goals with two while skipper Jodie bridger and Great Britain international Joe Ellis added one each.Ellis’s goal was her first since she re-joined the club in the summer after her spell in the National League with Reading.
Her experience could prove vital on Saturday when Ben Rhydding travel to Chester to play a Bowdon Hightown team who have also won their opening two game.
