BEN Rhydding Hockey Club had a disappointing weekend of results with neither their men or women's teams winning.
The men's side played out a tense 1-1 draw at Didsbury Northern.
In the crucial game for the lower half of the division, both teams were looking for three points but also keen to not lose.
Will Musgrave opened the scoring early in the first half with a penalty corner strike.
Didsbury scored their only goal just before the end of the first quarter and the rest of the game was a tense affair with a few cards but no more goals.
Meanwhile, Ben Rhydding's women side were thrashed 5-1 away at Beeston.
The hosts took the lead after just six minutes and did not look back as they were two up at half time.
Beeston added two more goals before Beth Cordukes put Rhydding on the scoreboard in the final quarter.
The home team ended with a fifth goal in the last few minutes to seal a 5-1 win.
This weekend's fixtures
Saturday is a big day at Ben Rhydding's Coutances Way ground.
Fifth-placed Ben Rhydding women face Buckingham, who are currently in third place and pushing hard for promotion, at 1.30pm.
At the start of the season, Buckingham narrowly won the reverse fixture 2-1 so Rhydding will fancy their chances at home.
The men's side then take on Sheffield at 6.30pm.
With both teams in the lower half of the Conference North, there will be everything to play for.
The club is expecting a big crowd for both matches and are gearing up with special offers in the bar and additional food stalls available.
