ILKLEY Town dropped out of the play-off places after a 2-1 defeat at home to Athersley Recreation on Tuesday night, who incidentally replaced the Baht’atters in the league’s top five positions following victory.
Nathan Perks gave his side a 13th minute lead, and Carter Tingle doubled the visitors’ advantage in the second half.
Alfie Dean did pull one back for Town to give his side a glimmer of hope, but they couldn’t draw level after a late push for an equaliser.
Ilkley return to action this Saturday when they travel to Brigg Town in a 3:00 pm kick-off.
