ILKLEY Rugby Club Under 11s won the Sedbergh Tournament this past weekend.
The annual tournament took place on Sunday at Sedbergh School and six teams from across the country participated including Tynedale, Bowdon, Harrogate, Lymm, Ilkley and Chester. After a long day of 15 games, where they won five and only conceded three, the Ilkley Vikings were crowned winners.
BusinessWaste.co.uk, proud sponsors of the Ilkley Vikings, were inspired by the dedication of the children and the commitment of the volunteer coaches who give their time to train and support the boys. To foster a stronger sense of team spirit, the sponsors gifted the team warm hoodies featuring the Vikings logo.

Mark Hall, co-founder of BusinessWaste.co.uk, said: “These kids’ passion for winning, and their coaches who consistently dedicate their free time to support them, deserve all the recognition. We strongly value activities that get children outside, help them learn new skills, and most importantly, ensure they have fun.
"As part of our community outreach, we’re always looking to promote initiatives that encourage health, confidence, and a sense of community and responsibility in young people. This is a fantastic way for us to connect with the younger generation and help them feel more engaged with their local area.”
Dan Scargill, the Vikings’ coach, commented on the team’s recent success.
He said: “Training kids with such enthusiasm makes coaching an absolute pleasure. The team’s commitment and love for rugby are starting to show, and this weekend’s achievement has meant the world to them.
"The boys are thrilled with their wins at the Sedbergh Tournament and have been proudly sporting their Viking hoodies. They're already looking forward to the next big competition.”
