THE annual Otley Cycle Club awards presentation for the 2023 season took place at the Brownlee Cycle Centre on May 7th, 2024.
Members celebrated the following awards:
John Raftery was voted by members as Club Person of the Year and won the Hilly 14 Mile Time Trial Handicap Trophy.
Helen Goldthorpe - nine awards including the Women’s Best All Rounder.
Sam Ward - nine awards including Triangle Fastest Man.
Emily Middlebrooke - three awards including Road & Circuit Race Champion - Female Over 16.
Matt Asquith - two awards including Veterans Best All Rounder Award.
Katherine Bucknell - two awards including Road & Circuit Race Champion - Female Under 16.
Archie Gill - Track Champion.
Daniel Middlebrooke - 10 Miles Time Trial Championship.
Ian Cullen - 25 Mile Time Trial Handicap.
Tom Cullen - Road & Circuit Race Champion - Male Over 16.
Alex Hodgkins - Road & Circuit Race Champion - Male Under 16.
David Howe - 10 Mile Time Trial Handicap.
Thomas Nabb - Cyclo Cross Champion PH-MAS Trophy.
Christos Tzelis - Hillclimb Championship.
Liam Mealey – Nicole Mann Grand Tour Award.
Gill Arnett – Sporting Miles Award.
Tony Wild, Otley Cycle Club President, said: “I was absolutely delighted to host our Awards Presentations, at the Brownlee Centre on 7th May.
"It was a pleasure and a privilege to ensure our awards were duly presented, for what is essentially an opportunity to celebrate success at all levels, disciplines and demographics. I was particularly pleased that our young people were duly celebrated.
"Chapeau everyone, you've all done very well."
