GUISELEY showed their footballing superiority as they defeated Ilkley Town 10-1 in the West Riding County Cup at Nethermoor on Tuesday evening.
Sitting three divisions above their opponents, the Lions came into this fixture as the overwhelming favourites and the gap between the two sides was apparent throughout the 90 minutes.
The hosts were 7-1 up by half-time and added three more to their tally in the second half, with the goals coming from Gabriel Johnson (X4), Tom Denton (X3), C Meppen-Walters, Tom Pratt, Prince Ekpolo, while Nathan Hunt scored Town’s only goal of the game.
Ilkley won’t be too disheartened by the result though, with focus returning towards league action this Saturday at Ashton Town. They currently sit in 5th place.
