ILKLEY Town fell victim to a five-star performance at Heaton Stannington on Saturday in the FA Vase, with the hosts running out 5-1 winners.
A Leighton Hopper hat-trick helped inflict the damage on the visitors, who were outclassed for large parts of the game.
Nathan Hunt did level the scores for Sam Dexter’s side in the first half, but from then on it was one-way traffic.
Strikes from Louis Anderson and Hopper had put the hosts 2-1 up at the interval, before Konner Lamb and two more goals from Hopper in the second half put the gloss on an impressive five-star performance.
Ilkley return to action this Saturday when they take on South Liverpool in the league.
