GUISELEY AFC have been successful in their application to convert the existing grass pitch to a 3G pitch.
The club commented: "Whilst the club have, without doubt, one of the best grass pitches in the National League system, we have watched as other clubs have used a 3G pitch to grow and develop their club.
"The emergence of full-time clubs, even at this level, means that in order to compete the club has to maximise its income and a 3G pitch will allow us to do so.
"The growth of the club’s Academy and Centre of Excellence, the expansion of the town and the upsurge in women’s and girls’ football all indicate a need for a more usable space. The planning approval does come with conditions, some straightforward, others less so, but all of the conditions are manageable."
The new facility will replace the existing small 3G which has been in use since 2006. It is expected that work will commence on the conversion during the close season in 2024 and should be ready for the 2024/25 season.
