JAKE Cassidy fired the only goal of the game as Guiseley defeated a youthful Fleetwood Town side in a pre-season friendly.
Danny Ellis’ men warmed up for their big kick-off this weekend with a 1-0 win over an Under-23s side from the Sky Bet League One club.
The Lions had the better of the first half but nothing to show for their efforts as they went into the interval goalless.

On 35 minutes Fleetwood had their first major chance of the match. Danny Edwards found Akiel Raffie, but the latter’s effort on goal was a comfortable take for Guiseley goalkeeper Scott Moloney.
But it was visitors Fleetwood who had the better of the opening exchanges of the second period. Town’s Will Russ went close with a 55th-minute header which went over the crossbar.
Guiseley re-grouped and grabbed the winner on 67 minutes.
Cassidy dribbled into the Fleetwood box and his strike beat Fleetwood goalkeeper Stephen McMullan.
There were no further chances of note in the remainder of the friendly clash with only half-chances late on.
A crowd of 223 at Nethermoor saw Guiseley end their pre-season campaign in style with a win over a Fleetwood side full of promising younger players.
