BEN RHYDDING Women's first team travelled to Olton & West Warwicks where they found a flooded pitch for their fixture.
Thankfully, after one failed attempt, Olton managed to find another venue and the game got underway two hours late.
Ben Rhydding got off to a rapid start and with a well worked penalty corner routine. Kellie Baxter struck the rebound with venom and struck over the keeper to make it 1-0. From then on there was only going to be one winner.
Olton rarely threatened the water tight back five, including the unbeaten Charlotte Smith in goal - with a well earned first clean sheet of the season.
Ben Rhydding were unable to add a further goal in the first half but on the back of patient build up play it was only a matter of time before they would add their second, with Kirsty Goodbold and Flick Wooley marauding down the flanks and winning short corners for fun.
The midfield battle was intense with the tireless trio of Sophie Davies, Jodie Bridger and Jess Triffit firmly coming out on top.
The hard work in training on penalty corners paid off further in the third quarter as Rebecca Birch slammed home the second goal from the short corner, beating the diving goal keeper with ease.
The real highlight came eight minutes later as young starlet and Player of the Match, Poppy Lawson, carried the ball from deep before calmly lifting the ball over a diving goal keeper with a sublime finish, one which does not reflect her relative inexperience at this level.
With the game firmly wrapped up going into the final quarter, Ben Rhydding enjoyed a procession of dominance in which they were unfortunate not to score further.
Ben Rhydding Ladies, sitting eight in the league, go into their next game on 26th at Home against fourth placed Stourport at 1:30pm with the winds of Eunice well and truly in their sails - "We hope you can all come and support", said Ben Rhydding
The Mens' first team play Sheffield Hallam immediately afterwards at 3pm and then have a further game on Sunday at 2pm v Durham University.
Finally, a special mention to second team player, Sam Burton, who had to step into the goalkeeper kit in their game at Sheffield when the regular goalie, Rob Pratt, dislocated his knee. Leading 3-1 at the time Sam was able to help defend the win with just one goal conceded - keeping the Mens seconds at the top of the table.
