A MOVE to give Dales Council League clubs an incentive to provide umpires has failed.
Clubs would have been awarded two points per match that they provided an umpire for up to a maximum of 40 points (two outright wins) but excluding the last four weeks of the season.
However, at the league’s annual meeting, the proposed rule change, which was masterminded by Rodley’s Steve Bradbury and was intended for matches not involving an umpire’s own club, only received seven votes four and 11 against, meaning that it failed.
