Ben Rhydding know the score when it comes to fundraising.
They have come up with a novel way of earning the £3,500 they need for a new electronic scoreboard.
The Aire-Wharfe Division A side are holding a 24 Hour Cricket-a-thon.
It will take place on Saturday August 31 and Sunday, September 1, and the Cricket- athon Committee has arranged a packed programme of events.
The event illustrates again the club’s desire to continue to upgrade their facilities.
It fundraising starts with their second team match against Horsforth which starts at 1pm on August 31.
And stumps will be draw on the fundraising events at the start of their third team league game at home to Otley at 1,30pm on the Sunday.
Club captains, managers and team coaches have all contacted team members, parents of junior members and supporters of the club to join in.
The schedule comprises of a range of age-related games which will be played inside and outside.
Each club member is being asked to raise funds by completing their own sponsorship form.
The club have also received backing from the Wheatley Arms who will be the main sponsor.
Many local businesses have agreed to provide raffle prizes.
The main focus of the event will be involvement and fun.
Club official Robin Snook says participants will be rewarded for their efforts through the hours of darkness with good food in the form of a barbecue, Yorkshire tea and a full English breakfast.
The range of innovative cricket formats that can be played inside and outside include, blind cricket, attic cricket, Howzthat, a beetle cricket drive, cricket quiz and Playstation cricket There will be prizes for the top fundraisers and for the person who takes the most wickets in the bowl out competition.
