METHODIST CHURCH: Soup lunches, at which everyone is welcome, continue to be served every Friday from noon. As part of The Biggest Coffee Morning in the World, all the proceeds from this week’s lunch will go to Macmillan Cancer Care. The preacher at the service this Sunday at 10.30am will be the Rev Keith Reed and at 6pm the monthly evening service of holy communion will be led by the Rev Peter Gray. Next Wednesday, at 11am, there will be a service at Emmandjay Court, which will include holy communion, shared by residents and members of St John’s Church and Ben Rhydding Methodist Church. This will be preceded by coffee.
BRIDGE CLUB: Results for Monday, September 23, seven-pair Howell movement, winners: 1 Colin Graham and Brenda Beaman 65 per cent, 2 Judith Shilling and Len Hughes 63 per cent, 3 Brian and Shirley Lee 51 per cent.
