Plans to extend Burley-in-Wharfedale Library to create a new Co-op convenience store have been submitted to Bradford Council.
Ilkley-based company Fairbrook Developments Ltd has applied for planning permission to refurbish and extend the Bradford Council-owned Grange Road library. The plan, now available for public inspection and comment, proposes space for a Co-op store on the ground floor, plus storage, staff room and car parking, plus a first floor extension to house the library.
The plan was validated by the council on Friday and the standard consultation expiry date is October 10.
Retail and traffic assessment documents accompany the planning application, along with a design and access statement.
The Co-op hopes to move from its existing premises on Station Road, where the lease expires in November.
The plan is expected to be determined by Bradford Council.
