Leeds City 1 Otley Town 2
Two superb goals from Chris Davey enabled Otley Town to come from a goal behind to reach their third cup final of the season.
But their success means they have 15 matches to play before the end of the season.
In addition to the League Cup, Wharfedale District FA Cup and the West Riding County Challenge Cup finals, Town also have to fit in 12 more West Yorkshire League Premier Division games.
Playing their West Yorkshire League Cup semi-final at Glasshoughton Wel- fare, they fell behind after just five minutes.
But Otley didn’t let the setback trouble them at all.
In the 10th minute Davey took aim with a free kick 35 yards out and three yards in from the touchline.
Nobody expected a shot on target, not least the Leeds goalkeeper who could only watch as Davey’s shot rocketed into the top right hand corner of the net.
A further goal from Davey via a cheeky lob over the keeper’s head meant that Town led 2-1 at half-time.
Leeds upped their game in the second half and exerted a lot of pressure but the Otley defence stood firm.
Town had a few lucky let offs but clung on to win.
This means Town are now in an unprecedented three finals, and are establishing a reputation as cup experts.
