Fields 0 Otley Town 3
Three first half goals were enough to see Otley Town home in this midweek West Yorkshire Premier Division match at Fields .
In horrible playing conditions Town chose to play with the howling gale at their backs and were soon rewarded for an enterprising start when leading scorer Scott Cater scored with a terrific shot the velocity of which was all too much for the home keeper.
Town continued to dominate with Josh Waite, Luke Danskin and Cater causing mayhem in the Fields defence.
Every time Otley attacked a goal was possible and another duly arrived after 25 minutes when Cater’s driven cross was diverted home by a Fields defender.
With the weather conditions and advantage likely to be reversed at half-time, Town needed a third goal to provide some insurance and it came courtesy of Danskin who stole in on the blind side of a square defence to deftly nod home.
The second half was something of a non-event so well did the Otley defence cope with the conditions and the Fields attack.
In fact Otley could easily have scored more goals themselves had their finishing been better.
Once again all 14 Town players contributed to a fine away win – their first of the season in the league.
