Talks between union officials and bus company First were continuing yesterday in a bid to avert a second day of strike action in Leeds.
Drivers for the firm, which serves communities in Aireborough and Wharfedale held their first day of action last Saturday.
The strike, over a pay freeze being introduced by the firm, hit many buses although First managed to keep a “skeleton” service going for key routes.
A second day of action is due to take place this Saturday but a spokesman for First said yesterday that talks were ongoing in a bid to head off the strike.
The company is also offering to compensate First season ticket holders (by giving travel vouchers) for any days travel they lose to strike action.
Anyone who has been affected should send their ticket, after it has expired and including their name and address, to: Freepost RRZY-GBKG-AKYR, First Marketing Department, Hunslet Park, Donisthorpe Street, Leeds LS10 1PL.
