At a recent meeting of the Inner Wheel Club of Aireborough, President Carol Davis and member Julie Hipkin spoke to members about their volunteering at the Together Women Project in Bradford. They attend on a Thursday morning at a regular Knit and Natter session with women who have been referred to the project by either social, medical or the probation services.
The women are encouraged to make items through knitting or craft work, whilst some of the newer women are happy to use mindfulness colouring books giving an opportunity to switch off during the session.
Members were asked to donate toiletry items which will be made up into Christmas packs during their party, and the club was delighted to be able to donate over 60 items to the assistant manager.
