OTLEY Common is delighted to announce the Santa’s Little Helpers Family Disco, a fun-filled community event bringing families together for an afternoon of music, dancing, and the spirit of giving.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 7th, from 2pm to 6pm at the Otley Methodist Church, Boroughgate, and entry is free for all.
The Santa’s Little Helpers Family Disco is more than just a festive celebration. It’s an opportunity for families to connect, dance, and make a difference through the Great Toy Drop & Swap Shop. Attendees are encouraged to bring their gently-used, unwanted toys to donate, which they can exchange for tokens to use at the swap shop. This initiative promotes sustainability, encourages recycling, and ensures that every child has a toy to unwrap this Christmas.
Event highlights include:
• Family Disco: Enjoy non-stop music, dancing, and live entertainment, featuring performances by local favourites Stanley Sparkles and The Redbird Gang
• Toy Drop & Swap Shop: Bring your pre-loved toys, receive tokens, and discover new treasures. Any remaining toys will be donated to local charity Martin House Children’s Hospice, ensuring the joy of the season is shared with those in need.
• Free Entry: This is a community event that welcomes everyone, and there’s no cost to attend.
A spokesperson for Otley Common said: "This event is made possible through the generosity of our partners Martin House Children’s Hospice, AudioServ, and many local businesses. We encourage residents to come along, donate their toys, and spread the holiday cheer to families in need.
"Santa’s Little Helpers Family Disco is about bringing the community together in the spirit of giving. We hope families will not only have a great time dancing and celebrating but also feel the joy of knowing they’ve made a positive impact on others this holiday season."
