ON Remembrance Sunday the district paid its respects to those killed or injured in conflicts around the world.
In Ilkley the annual Remembrance parade started from Whitton Croft Road and included dignitaries, members of the armed forces and uniformed and civic organisations.
Participants progressed along the Grove and into the Memorial Gardens to assemble in time for the 3pm start to the service which was led by the Rev David Callander.
Among those who laid wreaths were Ilkley's MP Robbie Moore.
He said: "It was an honour to take part in a very moving service at Keighley’s Shared Church and also to take part in the Remembrance Day procession and lay wreaths at both Keighley and Ilkley’s cenotaphs.
"There is no greater service than defending our nation at home and abroad, and it was great to see everyone united in remembrance, wearing our poppies with pride and remembering the great sacrifices of friends, loved one’s and past generations.
"To our armed forces, our veterans, and all who have played their part in defending our country and its values and freedoms – I salute you."
A wreath was also laid by The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Bev Mullaney. She said: “The annual services of Remembrance in our district are always moving events. It is important that we continue to remember all those who have lost their lives, have been wounded, have suffered or are still suffering in any way, due to past and present conflicts around the world."
