MONEY raised from two charity cricket matches between Addingham Village Social Club and Ilkley Bowling Club, which took place this summer, has been presented to the charity Take Heart.
Manager of Addingham Social Club Sara Mortimer said: "The money was raised in memory of one of our members at Addingham Alyson Symons. In total we raised £1,444 in cash and there have also been £300 plus donations made online direct to the charity.
"Please can I take the opportunity to thank all the organisers, players, sponsors and those who came to watch and support the games. Ilkley won both home and away games. Here's to next year's rematch."
Take Heart is a charity which raises money for The Yorkshire Heart Centre based in Leeds General Infirmary with some services at St James’s Hospital.
The charity's treasurer Trevor Thompson said: "This donation will help us greatly in our continued work providing care and comfort to patients and their relatives in the Cardiac Units of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and all their units.
"All of our trustees are happy to give their services on a voluntary basis and some have benefitted from treatment for heart disease in one form or another, so they are very aware of the needs of said patients and their relatives. We also work closely with all the consultants, doctors and nursing staff, so you can be assured that your donation will be spent wisely."
"Your generosity makes our work at the Yorkshire Heart Centre much easier and more rewarding," he added.
