ON Friday, November 15, join Olivia Johnson, photo archive assistant at Bradford Museums and Galleries, for an insightful talk about the remarkable life and work of Charles Harold Wood.

From motorcycle test-rider, to photographer, to inventor, C.H. Wood’s archive, spanning 70 years and over 300,000 negatives, is a vital resource in preserving Bradford’s history. Not only was he one of Bradford’s most prolific industrial and aerial photographers, but his contribution to the war effort also earned him an MBE and aided the Dambusters in their successful 1943 raid.

The talk will take place upstairs in Ilkley Manor House and tickets cost £5. They can be purchased online via Eventbrite or in person at the House when it is open on weekends, 11am to 4pm. Doors open at 10.15am, allowing attendees time to get a hot drink and a biscuit before the 10.30am start.

This is Ilkley Manor House’s last coffee morning talk of the year before it closes for winter in December. Don’t miss out.
