Ilkley's MP Robbie Moore recently took part as a panellist at the Annual BASC (British Association for Shooting and Conservation) event held at Ilkley Rugby Club.
The event, which brought together key stakeholders from the rural economy, focused on how best to ensure the continued growth and prosperity of the countryside.
During the discussions, Moore highlighted the significance of country sports in supporting the rural economy and maintaining the countryside.
Topics included habitat conservation, wildlife, and game management, with an emphasis on best practice and sustainable methods.
Moore stressed the importance of balancing economic interests with environmental stewardship to protect the countryside for future generations.
Robbie Moore MP said: “Country sports play a vital part in making sure our countryside thrives and it was a great evening discussing some incredibly important topics, including best practice in habitat conservation, and wildlife and game management.
"A huge thank you to everyone involved, especially Simon Grace, the Northern BASC team, and Lishman’s of Ilkley for some great pies . It’s events like these that really help strengthen our rural community.”
