Waste Not in Ilkley will be closing its doors for a final time on Saturday, November 2nd.

Owner Lottie Kitching first opened Waste Not in Burley-in-Wharfedale in 2018, following a successful run of pop-up-shops. Lottie opened a second shop in Ilkley in July 2020 in the middle of the pandemic.

Today she said: "We are so sad to be leaving Wells Road, but we hope that by focusing our efforts on our Burley-in-Wharfedale store, we will be able to keep going."

Waste Not is a local business offering a plastic free shopping experience that reduces the amount of single-use packaging waste going into your bin.

Mum-of-two Lottie said: "It's always been tough running a small business, but with the pandemic, constant increases in costs, and the credit crisis, we unfortunately need to downsize."

Despite the heartbreak at closing the store, Lottie is hopeful it will be positive change. "Being able to focus our efforts on one store will mean that the Burley Shop can open six days a week, and there will be a doorstep delivery service in the local area on Fridays," she said.

Lottie added: "We're 'very grateful for all the kindness and support we received in Ilkley, and appreciate every one of our customers - thank you!"
