MANORLANDS fundraiser Run Bolton Abbey is back in November - and for everyone taking part, a tree will be planted.

The popular autumn trail-running event will take place at the Bolton Abbey estate on Remembrance Sunday, November 10, and will include a two minute silence.

Now in its seventh year, the event will raise vital funds for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, and this year is being sponsored by Yorkshire Clinic and Midgley Motor Cars with support from the Bolton Abbey Estate which generously provides the venue, and event partners Skipton AC.

There are routes to suit all abilities, including a 10k, 10 mile or half marathon, as well as a 2.4-mile fun run for the whole family to enjoy. The races will start at 9am, and a two-minute silence will be observed at 11am for Remembrance Day at the start and finish line.

Previous events have seen hundreds of participants running in support of Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope, which provides expert palliative care, advice and support to people living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families.

Andrew Wood, Community Fundraising Manager, said he hoped this year's event would prove to be as well attended as it has in previous years.

He said: “Run Bolton Abbey is always a popular event and provides a unique opportunity to run on parts of the estate not usually accessible to the public. The funds raised from this event will help us to continue to provide specialist care and grief support for local people and their families, filling their last days with love.”

Everyone who takes part in Run Bolton Abbey will benefit from chip timing to record their race time and for each runner that participates a tree will be planted in the Bolton Abbey Estate.
