The Aireborough Fundraising Group for Marie Curie have announced this week that they have raised the incredible amount of £220,000.00 since they set up in 2011.
The group holds coffee mornings, race nights, fashion shows, music nights and pamper evenings together with regular supermarket collections.
Chair, Barbara Croxen said: "We are a small but extremely active group and have a lot of fun organising and running local events. We have become well know in the area for our epic race nights which not only raises us a lot of money but increases the footfall and bar takings for local pubs."
Marie Curie now cares for people living with and dying from any terminal illness. The money raised by this group supports Marie Curie nurses caring for patients at the end of life in their own homes.
