A TEAM of 13 estate agents and team members from Dacre, Son & Hartley climbed Pen-y-Ghent on one of the wettest and windiest days of the year to raise hundreds of pounds for a local charity that supports Yorkshire’s homeless community.
Homeless Hampers provides staple food items, toiletries and other essentials to homeless and less fortunate communities across Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield.
Walking up Yorkshire’s third highest peak is the latest initiative that Dacre, Son & Hartley has participated in for Homeless Hampers after previously collecting products and packing hampers, alongside several other fundraising events.
The firm also supports the charity’s campaign encouraging home movers, along with anyone else in Yorkshire, to donate unwanted furniture and electrical appliances, so they can be given a new lease of life by someone in need.
Rebecca Reeves, HR Director from Dacre, Son & Hartley, which has 20 offices in West and North Yorkshire, said: “The weather for this challenge was gruelling with heavy rain, gusty winds and hail but the team did it and raised £390 for Homeless Hampers, which will make a big difference to the people the charity supports.
“We’re now looking forward to tackling Yorkshire’s other highest peaks, Whernside and Ingleborough, in the coming months to raise more funds for Homeless Hampers.”
