ON Friday, October 11, husband-and-wife duo Will Finn and Rosie Calvert will perform traditional and contemporary folk tunes at Ilkley Manor House.
Will and Rosie are Newcastle University alumni, having graduated with BAs in Folk and Traditional Music. For ten years, they took the festival circuit by storm with their a capella harmony quartet, The Teacups.
The husband-and-wife duo perform with variety and flair – intricate harmonies; the rousing instrumentation of piano, steel pan, and ukulele; and a joyful, warm stage presence.
Expect to hear lively jigs, shanties about sailing to California for gold, and a Tennyson poem set to a wonderful tune.
Doors open at 7pm and the concert begins at 7:30pm. Tickets are £12 and can be purchased online via Eventbrite (this includes a booking fee). You can also visit the House on weekends from 11am to 4pm and buy tickets in person.
