As summer turns to autumn, mum-of-three, Sarah Foster, has turned her attention once again to pumpkins and half term autumn fun.
Sarah, who runs the Brookleigh Pumpkins patch in Menston is excited with the prospect of Halloween being only around the corner. It’s the fourth year of her running Brookleigh Pumpkins along with her family. This year it’s set to be bigger and better with even more pumpkins but is still very much a family-friendly local attraction on her family farm.
For those who haven’t ever visited Brookleigh Pumpkins, it’s a pumpkin patch located on the side of Burley Road in Menston where families can pick a pumpkin from the field; explore a spooky halloween trail and enjoy homemade refreshments in the ‘Monster Mummy’ pop-up café.
Sarah said: "Growing pumpkins has been particularly tricky this year; the weather hasn’t been on our side however this hasn’t dampened our spirits and we will still have more pumpkins than ever for children to choose. I’ve also been busy on the farm designing and creating a new spooky Halloween trail which my children have really enjoyed helping me with. It’s a real family affair."
Sarah grows Jill-Be-Little, Jack o’ Lantern, Racer and Gladiator pumpkins, all of which are predominantly orange varieties, and there are a few squash too.
This year, Brookleigh Pumpkins is open over the weekends of October 12 and 13, October 19 and 20 and half term from October 26 until 31st. Tickets are available on eventbrite bit.ly/3BhSlZ6
