Following a successful collaboration with Ilkley Literature Festival in 2022, Otley Wildlife Arts festival has once again joined up with them to present a talk by Tom Heap on Sunday, October 13, 12pm at the Ilkley Playhouse.

Tom, the well-known television, and radio reporter best known for his contributions to BBC’s Countryfile, is talking about his new book Land Smart, examining why we need good quality land and how to give humanity and nature the space to thrive.

The Ilkley Literature Festival is internationally known and will be running from October 4th – 20th this year. Commenting on the renewed partnership, Neil Griffin, of Wildlife Friendly Otley, said: "We are once again delighted that we can work with the Literature Festival. It is great to have Tom come along to talk about a subject which is so important in the ever-challenging world that we live in."

Due to huge demand, tickets for Tom’s talk have been sold out. However, on the same day at 7pm at the Horse and Farrier pub in Otley, the organisers are excited to announce that Detta Kenzie will be performing with support from Trash Panda. Detta, who is a well-known English folk singer, will bring her reworking of traditional music alongside original songs.
