Yeadon warehousing and distribution firm VLT Logistics has pledged support to some of the region’s most disadvantaged families by becoming a patron of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity.
The Trust provides respite breaks to children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, or who have experienced poverty, trauma or abuse.
From its base at Leeds Bradford Airport Industrial Estate, VLT provides warehousing and distribution solutions to a national and international client base. The company recently achieved ISO 14001 accreditation, the internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems.
Established in 1996 by Vernon Land, VLT has grown from a one-man enterprise with a single 7.5 ton wagon to a multimillion turnover operation with 500,000 sq ft of modern warehousing and fleet of 40 vehicles. Today the firm employs 65 staff led by Managing Director Andrew Land, whose father established the business.
Launched in 2011, The Principle Trust Children’s Charity was established by Ilkley businessman Mike Davies, MBE. Since then, the Trust has raised over £1.7m, developed a portfolio of holiday homes and provided respite breaks for more than 5,000 children across the Yorkshire region.
Mr Davies said: ‘We are delighted that VLT has joined The Principle Trust as a patron; they are a leading logistics firm with an excellent reputation and this new partnership further solidifies The Trust’s plans to expand services across the Yorkshire region."
Andrew Land, Managing Director of VLT Logistics added: "As a family business, we are pleased to support The Principle Trust in helping disadvantaged families escape their everyday troubles and create valuable, happy memories."
