ON Saturday, October 5, between 11am and 2pm, Zoe Platt will host free workshops at Ilkley Manor House, introducing visitors to cyanotype art.
This camera-less form of photography uses UV light to create striking blue-and-white images inspired by objects found around the House.
Visitors of all ages can enjoy this process, which takes around 20 minutes, to create one or two cyanotype prints to take home. There are five time slots available which can be booked via the link on the Ilkley Manor House website. Aprons will be provided to ensure a mess-free experience.
Zoe Platt of ‘Short and Few’ is an experienced art tutor who loves to inspire people to develop a curiosity for what the arts can be about. She says: “Cyanotypes really do feel like magic when you see the process unfold, and this event will complement the Solar Gallery and ‘Landscapes of Identity’ exhibitions currently on display at Ilkley Manor House nicely.”
In addition to the two exhibitions, Ilkley Arts will be hosting their open studios on the weekend of October 5-6, offering the public a chance to meet local artists and learn more about their creative processes.
