OTLEY Baroque is the concert series established by an international violinist Asuka Sumi to bring the finest Baroque chamber music to local communities since 2018.
On September 25, Otley Baroque invites the audience to an evening of peace and contemplation through music by J.S. Bach and his contemporaries.
Asuka says: "Otley Baroque started as a charity concert series to help homeless shelters in Leeds. The lockdown period crimped our finances and limited us from this initial aim. Reflecting on the current ‘polycrisis’ we are living through now in the world, I thought it is time to bring back my original aspiration. We are delighted to welcome back Pablo Tejedor-Gutierrez for this occasion, a young Spanish cellist who showed his exceptional musicality in our last concert in January. I am very much looking forward to sharing the stage with him, delivering Bach’s extraordinary music in the beautiful space of Otley Parish Church."
The profit of this concert will be donated to World Vision, the Christian charity which helps children affected by conflict, disaster and climate change.
