FOOTBALL manager, keen cyclist and mental health lecturer, Tony Gill is getting back on his bike to raise money for good causes.
Tony, who lives in Giggleswick and is manager of football club Burley Trojans, Burley-in-Wharfedale, is planning to cycle a total of 301 miles in three days - as long as he doesn't get lost.
The first leg of his challenge starting on Thursday, September 26, will see him cycling 174 miles in Hadrian's Wall country from Ravenglass to South Shields.
He will then take a train ride back home to Giggleswick for a bike change before then catching a train to Liverpool. From there, he will cycle back home along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal - a distance of 127 miles - in a day.
Tony, 62, is raising money for three causes close to his heart, to the Motor Neurone Disease Association, in memory of his friend and tutor Keith Cooper; for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, and for Burley Trojans new clubhouse.
Last year Tony cycled 400 miles in five days from the Lords cricket ground in London to Gargrave to raise money for the same causes.
