An online training provider has donated almost 75,000 breakfasts to children across the UK via charity Magic Breakfast.

Ilkley-based High Speed Training has been donating one breakfast per sale of its Level 2 Food Hygiene for Catering course, and is on track to donate more than 100,000 breakfasts in 2024.

Magic Breakfast provides more than 200,000 children with breakfast across England and Scotland every day, in an attempt to tackle food poverty in households.

Magic Breakfast estimates that food poverty affects 4 million children.

It is reported that, in key stage one, children in schools that offer breakfast make around two months' additional progress over the course of a year compared to children in schools that don't.

Amy Mortimer, head of strategic partnerships at High Speed Training, said: "We’re really proud to be helping Magic Breakfast tackle the important issue of morning hunger in schools.

"We know that being hungry at school can affect a child’s learning, and the work that Magic Breakfast does is so crucial in ensuring children get the best start that they can."

High Speed Training was established in 2008 and recently celebrated certifying three million learners.

The company offers over 170 online courses and was named Organisation of the Year at 2023’s Learning Technologies Awards.
