TWO women have raised more than £1,000 for a well-used community hub in Ilkley.

The Clarke Foley Community Hub has announced that Lionne Roper, owner of Cosmos Flowers, along with Clarke Foley colleague Anna Clewlow, successfully completed the Ilkley Half Marathon.

Their inspiring efforts raised an £1,100 in support of the beloved community facility.

Lionne, a passionate supporter of the Clarke Foley Community Hub, and Anna, a dedicated colleague, took on the challenging 13.1-mile course with unwavering determination.

Throughout the marathon, Lionne carried her fundraising basket, collecting donations from enthusiastic supporters lining the route. Additionally, the duo received substantial online contributions.

“We are absolutely overjoyed by the response of the community and the remarkable amount raised in such a short period of time,” said Lionne. “The Clarke Foley Community Hub is a vital part of Ilkley, providing invaluable services and a welcoming space for residents of all ages.

"Completing the half marathon was both a personal and collective triumph, and we are grateful for every donation that will help the hub continue its essential work.”

Anna Clewlow echoed Lionne’s sentiments, adding: “Running the marathon was a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience. Seeing the community come together to support the Clarke Foley Community Hub was truly inspiring.”

The funds raised will be instrumental in enhancing the services and programmes offered by the Clarke Foley Community Hub, ensuring it remains a cornerstone of the Ilkley community.

The hub welcomes over 200 people through its doors every day, offering a wide range of activities benefiting individuals of all ages in Ilkley and beyond.

The pair’s achievement will be commemorated with an inscription on the hub’s newly installed honours board which is on permanent display.
