Addingham Civic Society's Heritage Group unveiled a new information board at Low Mill, Addingham, last Saturday.
The information boards tells the story of Low Mill, which was built in 1787 by John Cockshott and John Cunliffe and was the first mill in the country to successfully machine-spin worsted wool yarn.
The original mill was powered by two waterwheels and was later supplemented by a steam engine.
The information board, which was designed by Don Barrett, president of Addingham Civic Society, also tells about the impact of the mill during the Second World War.
Dr Ian Cameron, chairman of the Addingham Heritage Group, together with other group members and local residents, attended an event unveiling the information board.
This board complements the one unveiled at High Mill, Addingham, last year.
