THE Rotary Club of Ilkley Wharfedale is continuing its charity fund-raising with a Summer Folk Music Evening on Saturday, 20 July at the Clarke-Foley Community Hub.
Headlining will be the Duncan McFarlane Band, regulars at Otley Folk Festival, with guests Hazjak and The Heathen Kings. The event is sponsored by Lishman’s, kindly providing pies, and Ilkley Brewery, donating beer.
Tickets are £15, to include a pie and peas supper with a veg option bookable in advance. Groups of four or more can reserve a table via members of Rotary A great evening is in prospect, in two very good causes. End Polio Now is a major Rotary charity and is having a dramatic effect. As of a few weeks ago, there were only ten cases of wild polio in the world, all in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The other beneficiary will be Parkinson's which affects many closer to home.
