ANGLO-Scottish duo Janice Burns and Jon Doran will perform traditional folk melodies at Ilkley Manor House on Friday, July 19.
Janice and Jon came together after discovering a shared love for traditional music. Their songs tell vivid stories about life and our place in the world, using an unusual array of instruments including mandolin and bouzouki.
Expect to hear about traditional working class lives, like the ballad of the fishgutters from Aberdeen, or the Scottish temperance tune about Johnny, who falls prey to the “whiskey that mak's [him] sae thirsty”!
Doors open at 7pm and the concert begins at 7.30pm. Tickets are £14 and can be purchased online via Eventbrite (this includes a booking fee). Tickets may be available on the door but this cannot be guaranteed.
