AN exclusive musical evening under the stars celebrating the Last Night of the Proms is set to take place on the private lawn at The Hall, Bolton Abbey, by kind permission of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.
Soprano Alexandra Lowe and Welsh tenor Ryan Vaughan Davies will be joined by sought-after conductor Ben Crick and the Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra.
The programme will include some of the world’s greatest operatic arias, dazzling show tunes, and of course the traditional classics associated with the Last Night of the Proms, culminating in a true celebration in the style of the BBC Proms.
Ben Crick said: “The Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra playing at the iconic Bolton Abbey for the first time is a really special occasion. This summer concert will celebrate the very best of art in the region, for me it’s just a fantastic thing to be part of.”
The event takes place on Friday, August 16 when the garden opens at 5.30pm for picnics. The concert starts at 7.30pm for 10pm finish. Tickets: £50 each (includes concert, bring your own seating, picnic and find a place in the garden. Dress code black tie or smart attire).
VIP tickets: £250 each (includes concert, deluxe open hamper and champagne in the exclusive hospitality enclosure. Dress code black tie).
All the profits raised will go straight to the Priory Church.
Alexandra added: “The Priory at Bolton Abbey holds a truly special place in my heart, having performed there many times over the years, but like many churches they need essential funds to keep on going. I would like to give something back to this incredible venue in the hope that it can go on providing artists like myself a place to perform."
