Your weekly dose of al fresco music starts up again this weekend with performances from some of the very best local brass, jazz and concert bands in parks across Leeds.
Courtesy of Leeds City Council there are 120 free concerts across 36 parks to choose from in and around Leeds. Simply turn up and enjoy the music from 2.30pm every Sunday until the end of September.
All are free entry apart from an entry fee per person applies at Lotherton Hall Estate and Meanwood Valley Urban Farm.
Councillor Salma Arif, Leeds City Council’s executive member for adult social care, active lifestyles and culture, said: “It’s fantastic to see such a talented programme of musical acts coming to our wonderful green spaces across Leeds this summer.
“Music can bring these beautiful locations to life and help visitors to enjoy them in a whole new way, and I’m sure these events will create a fabulous atmosphere in our local communities.”
Amongst hundreds of appreciative comments received, an audience member attending a Summer Bands in Leeds Parks concert said: “Thank you for arranging all these wonderful concerts throughout Leeds. This band is great and made everyone happy during their performance”.
One of the first concerts takes place at Golden Acre Park in Bramhope when the West Yorkshire Brass Bands plays from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Sunday, June 9.
