PLANNING is underway for the return of the Ilkley Flower Show - a well established event in the Ilkley calendar which hasn't happened since the Covid lockdown.
It is the ambition of the still existing organising committee to re-establish the show and they contacted former district councillor Anne Hawkesworth asking her for her involvement Last week they held very successful meeting with Nigel from Moss and Moor garden centre in Ilkley.
"We intend to move the date to the end of September 2025," said Anne Hawkesworth. "I am only too pleased to accept the invitation which fits in well with my desire to continue working for Ilkley.
"The date agreed makes sense. It is after the summer holidays so children and parents will be back in Ilkley which is essential as it is our ambition to widen the scope and include children’s classes.
"Our meeting with Nigel and his enthusiastic agreement to be involved is a huge step forward."
