HIGH Speed Training, an Ilkley-based online training provider, is hosting a free event to promote and support their charity partner, Smart Works Leeds.
Smart Works Leeds is a women’s employment charity who offer free interview coaching and a dressing service so women can feel confident, be empowered, and find a job quickly. They supported over 800 women across Yorkshire in 2023, and are aiming to break the 1000 mark in 2024. Sixty-nine per cent of the people supported by Smart Works are in employment within one month of their appointment.
Those attending Spring into Smart Works, which is taking place on Thursday, May 23 between 5.30pm-7pm at High Speed Training’s office in Ilkley, will discover more about the charity and how to get involved with volunteering and corporate support opportunities.
To raise funds for Smart Works Leeds, there will be a sale of discounted designer clothes and a raffle, including prizes generously donated by Rudding Park and local boutique cloth maker Abraham Moon.
Amy Mortimer, Head of Strategic Partnerships at High Speed Training, said: “Employability is something that we are really passionate about here, so we are delighted to be supporting Smart Works in their mission to help local women find work and improve their lives.
“The impact of this incredible charity really speaks for itself and I would encourage anyone who is interested to come along and find out more. You might be able to volunteer as a coach or wardrobe assistant or be interested in joining their corporate network. This is a great opportunity to learn more about their work and help raise money for a fantastic cause.”
Lottie Roberts, Outreach and Communications Manager at Smart Works Leeds, said: ‘We are so excited to join our valued partner High Speed Training at Spring Into Smart Works this month. High Speed training is an enthusiastic fundraiser for us, helping us to take our service across Yorkshire, supporting thousands of women to get back into work."
High Speed Training, who are a registered B Corp, are a member of the Smart Works Leeds Collective, a network of forward-thinking, dynamic and supportive Yorkshire individuals and businesses who have pledged to support unemployed women across Yorkshire into work.
