A PEER support group for men who experience poor mental health and loneliness has relaunched in Otley this week.
Otley Men’s Group was previously affiliated with the Morley-based Charity Men in Need Together (MINT) but felt they could better serve the men of Otley and surrounding areas by becoming an independent group.
On Tuesday evening they launched the rebranded group at Otley FC Clubhouse and will now meet there every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm.
The facilitators Andrew Jackson, Carl Wayne, Mike Hooker and Dave Ginn create an environment where men can share whatever they want and feel fully supported.
They said: "We sit round a table, and we share as much or as little as we want to share, an opportunity to get things off our chest or just share something positive we have done or will be doing.
"The group is very supportive of each other, sharing, or supporting someone sharing, can be so therapeutic, it can also be tiring so there is no rush and no pressure, and we have a refreshment break halfway through.
"If you are experiencing poor mental health or loneliness or want to support others who are, come along with no commitment, you are very welcome."
