Within a month of launching its new residential lettings and property management division, leading estate agent, Dacre, Son & Hartley is already managing a number of homes in and around Ilkley as well as agreeing several lettings and off-market rentals within a matter of days.

Dacres launched its lettings division in early February and appointed Joanna Speight as a senior lettings manager in its Ilkley office. The new division specialises in high quality and premium rental property in towns and villages surrounding Ilkley, Harrogate and York. Its services for landlords include both a fully managed offering and a tenant sourcing service.

In its first few weeks, the division has already listed a varied selection of properties in Ilkley, ranging from town centre apartments to a large, detached family home on Owler Park Road, which is now let for £3,500 per calendar month. The estate agent has also let homes in areas surrounding Ilkley including Ben Rhydding and Silsden.

Joanna has spent more than two decades working in property rentals in the Wharfe Valley, including eight years at Dacres between 2012 and 2020, prior to the company’s previous lettings division being acquired.

She said: “Our new lettings division has had a great response from landlords in our first few weeks and our early instructions have been a good mix of properties that we’ve been able to get in front of a wide audience thanks to our large branch network and wide online reach.

“The rentals market is busy and there are more tenants than homes available, so we’re in a great position to find high quality tenants for well-presented homes. In the past few weeks, we’ve been inundated with enquiries from potential tenants looking for everything from one-bedroom apartments for £600 per month through to detached homes that they’re prepared to pay thousands a month for.
