A GENEROUS fundraiser is organising a charity walk to raise awareness of prostate cancer among older men.
Reid Haddow, 79, of Yeadon, is a survivor of prostate cancer.
He is now preparing to take part in a sponsored walk in aid of Prostate Cancer Research.
It will be held between 9am and 10am on March 16, starting at the Memory Lane cafe at the entrance to Yeadon Tarn before laps of the dam are completed.
People can sponsor Reid via this JustGiving page.
Reid said: "I'm a prostate cancer survivor.
"My prostate was removed completely in 2016.
"The walk is to raise awareness of prostate cancer among older men and to raise money for such an important charity.
"People are invited to join us on the morning - it'll be a leisurely stroll for a good cause."
Otley Rotary Club is supplying banners for the fundraiser and the Memory Lane cafe will be providing refreshments after the walk.
Each year, 11,500 men die from prostate cancer.
Prostate Cancer Research is dedicated to creating new treatments for the disease.
A spokesperson for the charity said: "People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments, and research is the only way to turn this hope into reality."
