MEMBERS of Otley Golf Club have raised £6,007.24 for Otley-based charity Hug on a Tray.
Steve Moorcraft and Jill Tushingham, men’s and women’s captains, visited the Hug on a Tray hub last week to hand over the donation.
Members of both the mens and the ladies teams, including every member of Otley Golf Club jointly raised funds throughout 2023.
The money will be used by the charity to supply free TV and goodies for cancer patients in Bexley Wing, St James’s hospital.
Charity founder Lesley Noble said: "We're bowled over by this wonderful gesture, the kindness and generosity is overwhelming and we can't thank them enough.
"It would be impossible for us to raise enough to pay for all we provide for the patients and their families without this incredible support from our community. Massive 'thank you's' from all the 'Hug on a Tray' girls to every single person who's contributed to this fundraising effort, and to the many others out there who have supported us from the very beginning of our journey. Words are not enough to show our deep appreciation."
