A Pizza and Politics evening on ‘Tackling Climate Change’ will be hosted by Otley and Yeadon Labour Party at Otley Labour Rooms on February 28.
The speaker will be Katie White, Labour’s parliamentary candidate for the new Leeds North West constituency. Katie is a seasoned and successful campaigner on climate change action and received an OBE for her work in 2013.
Pizza and Politics is open to everyone. The format grew out of the ‘Science Café’ movement – with a short talk from an expert speaker followed by an informal discussion in a sociable café atmosphere. The ticket price includes a generous slice of pizza and a free glass of wine or beer.
“Labour has previously hosted some very popular Pizza and Politics evenings on a range of political topics. It’s a really sociable event and we’re delighted to be starting a new occasional series in this crucial general election year,” said Labour’s city council candidate Ian McCargo.
Pizza and Politics evening (£5 on the door) February 28, 7.30pm, Otley Labour Rooms, LS21 1EZ.
