SEVEN young photographers from the Ilkley area were presented with their prizes for winning the Ilkley Wharfedale Rotary Club Young Photographer Competition on Thursday, January 25 at the Clarke Foley Centre in Ilkley.
This is the second year that the Rotary Club has organised the competition and entries came in from six different schools.
The theme this year was 'Rebuilding' and it brought in a wide range of interpretations in all three age categories: Junior 7 to 10, Intermediate 11 to 13 and Senior 14 to 17.
The judges were very impressed with the quality of the photographs and it was a challenging task to make their final choices.
The prize winners in each age group were as follows:

1st Kaelum (aged 9) Do you want to try help me rebuild this nest?
2nd Hannah (aged 7) Rebuilding the Lego gateway

A spokesperson said: "The winner in last year’s Junior Category came 2nd in the National Competition which was quite an achievement."
The evening event at the Clarke Foley Centre was attended by the children and young people, their families, the judges, representatives from their schools and Rotary members of the Youth Committee as well as Jo Jarvis and Peter Mate, co-presidents of the Ilkley Wharfedale Rotary Club.
All the photographs entered in the competition will be on display at the Clarke Foley Centre from the middle of February.
