THIS year’s school production at Prince Henry’s, The Addams Family, played to sold out houses, with over 950 people coming to see the show, including the primary matinee performance.
Every aspect of the production had students involved – from the talented cast and show band, to those working backstage, designing and operating the lighting and helping with sound, make up and costumes.
Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and has a shocking secret that only Gomez knows; she’s fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family! Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything changes for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “ordinary” boyfriend and his parents.
Ghostly ancestors joined Morticia as she cheered herself up by singing Death is just around the corner, revelations abounded in Full Disclosure, Wednesday was horrified to discover that birds and unicorns were suddenly cute as she fell in love and she and Lucas competed to be Crazier than You. The Ancestors were appalled to discover that they had to join Fester in singing only of love, Gomez found it took two to tango, trapped between Morticia and Wednesday.

“It was amazing!”
Headteacher Sally Bishop said: "Every year we are hugely impressed by the amount of talent we have here at Prince Henry’s and this year’s production of ‘The Addams family’ was no exception, with over 120 students involved.
"From the standout performances across the cast, to the fantastic students in the band and the brilliant support from students behind the scenes and in front of house – this really was a whole school production. I am truly grateful for the huge amount of work our Performing Arts Faculty put into rehearsals and the large number of other staff who helped with the show – and the parents and carers who donated their professional skills.
"I am so proud of everyone involved and delighted that the audience clearly enjoyed it so much. The standing ovation on the last night was so special and a fitting and deserving end to an amazing week!”
The musical comedy The Addams Family is based on characters from the hit TV series, originally created by Charles Addams, written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice (Jersey Boys) with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.
